Why Humans First

Every young person entering the workforce today understands something a lot of Washington still hasn't caught up to: artificial intelligence is a genuine near-term threat to their economic future — not from some distant scenario, but from the real possibility that the job they trained for pays half as much, or doesn't exist at all, by the time they're thirty.

But keeping people at the center of the economy doesn't stop at AI. It's the same idea behind a housing policy that treats a home as a place for a family to live rather than just another asset. It's the same idea behind an education system that gives an eighteen-year-old real information before they take on real debt. And it's the same idea behind a safety net — paid leave, a functioning Social Security system, a tax credit that actually reaches the families who need it — that shows up when people need it, not just when it's politically convenient.

Technology should make people's lives better. It shouldn't make people optional.

This platform is a work in progress, deliberately. It has to be built with input from the people it actually affects: which jobs need protecting first, what a licensing or certification requirement should look like industry by industry, and how to build a coalition broad enough — across unions, small business owners, and everyday workers — to make this a political priority both parties have to answer to.

Humans First Alliance is dedicated to building a better world for people — protecting jobs, expanding access to good housing, strengthening families, and making education more affordable and accessible. We advocate for humans over technology. That doesn't mean we're anti-technology; we recognize technology has its place. It means we believe progress should serve people, not the other way around — a practical, mainstream position, not a radical one. We simply want human beings to succeed and lead happy lives.
